Jun. 9th, 2007 08:33 pmTook the kids to the beach today. I'm sunburnt; the munchkins tanned nicely. And yes, we were using SPF 50 sunscreen. I'd promised them a beach trip before they left with
musicwolf for the rest of the month, so it was today or nothing. Fortunately the weather cooperated. We'll be doing a trip up to see the alpacas tomorrow, presuming I'm capable of moving.
Rowan told me to "play statue" right at the edge of the water, where the waves came in to break around my ankels. She and Kyle took turns running out to the main breaker churn area, picking up handfuls of shells and coming back to deposit them at my feet (where the next wave inevitably washed them away). I felt like a personification of the goddess, with my little devotees laying their offerings before me. They kept up the game for about fifteen minutes before wanting to try something new.
