First post-op check-up
Aug. 11th, 2009 07:25 pmStitches are out. No signs of infection. Woohoo!
On the inside, things aren't so peachy. I'm showing signs of deep vein thrombosis (my leg is swollen and I failed the Pratt's test), so tomorrow I'll be getting a venous doppler ultrasound. If they find clots, I'll be in the hospital until they get it all under control.
I could use a vacation, right?
We'll be picking up a walker for me tomorrow. The wheelchair is just too unwieldy for me to manage on my own (i.e. I end up walking too much) and the cane doesn't provide support. I'm still not supposed to use crutches thanks to the arthritis, so a walker is the next best solution.
Mom's willing to watch the kids while I'm in the hospital. Right now she's planning to put the dog in the kennel if I'm going to be under wraps. I'm not happy about it, but she's honestly terrified of my puppy (to be fair, he barks his fool head off whenever he's around her, and she dislikes dogs enough to not bother making friends with him). He can be a handful when he's got his vinegar up.
